A hill becomes a patio.
Two levels
Out of ground you could not use
― What a wall gives you

A hill becomes a patio.

A wall turns a bank you used to mow sideways into two flat, usable levels. A patio where there was a slope, and a clean horizontal line that makes the whole yard read as designed.

The block is where the character comes from. Warm multi-tone on a curve, charcoal for something modern, or weathered boulders on an acreage. Capped, lit, and tied into the walkway, it stops looking like engineering and starts looking like architecture.

― What we build

Pick your wall.

01

Garden & seating walls

Under three feet. These frame beds, hold a small grade change, or double as somewhere to sit around a fire. Fast to build, and the place most homeowners start.

02

Structural block walls

Three to eight feet, in AB, Barkman or Techo Bloc units with geogrid tied back into the slope. This is the bulk of what we build across the west end and the newer south-side communities.

03

Boulder & natural stone

Rock walls for acreages and larger lots where a manufactured block would look out of place. Slower, heavier, and worth it on the right property.

A wall should be a decision you make once.
― Our take

A wall should be a decision you make once.

You shouldn't be thinking about your retaining wall. It should hold the yard up, look like it was always meant to be there, and then disappear into the background of your property.

When we come out, we'll tell you what the site needs. Sometimes that's less wall than you were picturing and a change in grade instead. Sometimes it's an engineer's stamp and a bigger number than you were hoping for. Either way you'll hear it before you're committed, not halfway through.

And if we're not the right fit for the job, we'll say so and point you somewhere that is.

Wall questions

In Edmonton it's around four feet. If your wall needs an engineer, we arrange it on our end so you don't have to.

A garden or seating wall is one to two days. A structural wall is three to six days. If we can get a machine into the yard, it's faster.

Usually. We take it apart, fix what's behind it, and rebuild with your block if it's still good. Send us photos and we'll tell you before we drive out.

It depends on height, length and the block you pick. We price it after we've seen the site, and that price doesn't change.

Depends how full the book is. Wall work stops once the ground freezes, so fall dates go early.

What our clients say.

I highly recommend Brick Lawn Landscaping. They were AMAZING start to finish. They removed all our dead sod from 3 dogs and installed turf and it looks fantastic. Job was done on time, did everything perfect, great communication, went over everything and at a great price too!

Had Ben and his crew replace a 10' x 10' patio that had slumped/ sunk after some concrete work done. The finished result was very nice, level and clean looking. Very happy with result. Did the job in just over one day. I would have them do any stone work for me in the future.

Send us a photo of the slope.

Two or three pictures and a rough idea of the height is usually enough for us to tell you what you're dealing with. If it's straightforward, we'll say so. If it needs an engineer, you'll know that before we visit.
