Paver Repair & Lift/Relay

A Smarter Way to Fix Uneven Pavers

Not all paver issues mean starting over.

In many cases, the pavers themselves are still in good shape. The problem is that sections have settled unevenly, shifted out of alignment, or opened up over time. That’s where lift and relay makes sense.

We repair and re-level existing pavers by lifting the affected areas, correcting the base, and relaying the same stones so the surface is flat, tight, and usable again—without the cost of full replacement.

Why Partial Fixes Usually Disappoint

Most paver problems aren’t isolated to one stone.
They show up across the surface — just not evenly.

When only part of a patio or walkway is corrected, the rest continues to move on its own timeline. That’s why people end up chasing the problem from one area to another.

A full relay solves this by:

  • Resetting the entire surface to one uniform height

  • Re-establishing clean lines and consistent spacing

  • Eliminating soft spots and uneven transitions

  • Making the space feel solid again — everywhere, not just in one spot

If the surface is already coming apart visually or underfoot, it’s usually telling you the same thing: it’s time to reset it properly.

What a Complete Lift & Relay Involves

A full relay isn’t complicated — but it does require care and patience.

We remove all pavers in the area, rework the base so it’s flat and consistent across the entire surface, and then relay the same stones back into place with tight, even spacing. Once set, the joints are re-sanded so the surface locks together again.

The goal isn’t to make it look new for a week.
The goal is for it to feel right every time you walk on it.

When the entire surface is reset together, everything moves as one — which is exactly how pavers are meant to work.

Let’s Talk About What Your Pavers Need

If you’re unsure whether your pavers need a full relay or something else, start by showing us what you’re dealing with. Photos and a brief description are often enough to have a real conversation about next steps.

If a complete relay makes sense, we’ll explain why.
If it doesn’t, we’ll tell you that too.
