Good turf doesn't. Several green tones, brown thatch underneath, different blade shapes. We bring samples so you can see it in daylight. ### Can I do part turf, part grass? Common, and often the best answer. Turf the problem areas, keep the grass where it grows well, clean edge between them. ### Does it get hot in summer? Warmer than grass on a hot afternoon, like a deck is. Shade helps and a rinse cools it in seconds. ### What about the environmental side? It's a trade-off. You lose some living surface.
