No mud

From the first thaw onward

― You know the yard

## One lawn that survives your dog.

There is a worn line down the fence where he patrols. There is a bald patch where she lies in the sun. Every spring there is a bare strip by the back gate that you reseed, and every spring it is gone again by July.

Then there is the door. Wet dog, wet paws, and a towel that lives on the mat for eight months of the year because our yards are mud from the first thaw until the ground finally dries out.

That is the actual problem we get called about. Not the aesthetics of a lawn. The mud, the smell, and the fact that a dog and grass cannot occupy the same small backyard indefinitely.

― What changes

## What you get.

No

Mud

### The towel comes off the mat

Wet paws stop being a problem in March. Nothing gets tracked through the kitchen.

No

Smell

### You can sit out there in August

It rinses clean and there is nothing left behind for the heat to find.

One

Lawn

### No trail, no bald patch

The spot she lies in looks the same as the rest of the yard. Every month of the year.

― What we install

## Where it goes.

### The whole backyard

Most common by far. Turf across the usable yard, a paver patio or path where the traffic is heaviest, and beds along the fence. The dog gets the run of it and you get your grass back permanently.

### Side yard and gate runs

The narrow strip that never had a chance. Shade, no drainage, constant traffic. Turf makes it the cleanest part of the property instead of the source of everything tracked inside.

### Kennels and boarding

Commercial runs where hygiene is the whole point: heavier pet-grade product, more aggressive drainage, and infill that can be flushed and topped up on a schedule.

― The smell question

## It doesn’t smell.

A pet turf lawn does not smell if it drains and if it gets rinsed. Urine passes through the backing, through the infill that neutralises the ammonia, and out through the stone. There is nothing organic in the system for bacteria to work on, which is more than can be said for soil.

Solids get picked up the same way you do now, and the surface underneath rinses clean rather than staining. In a small yard with more than one dog we suggest a hose-down every week or two in the heat of summer. That's all the upkeep it needs.

We only use pet-grade turf over a fully drained base, so there's nothing for smell to hang on to.

## What our clients say.

"

I highly recommend Brick Lawn Landscaping. They were AMAZING start to finish. They removed all our dead sod from 3 dogs and installed turf and it looks fantastic. Job was done on time, did everything perfect, great communication, went over everything and at a great price too!

Had Ben and his crew replace a 10' x 10' patio that had slumped/ sunk after some concrete work done. The finished result was very nice, level and clean looking. Very happy with result. Did the job in just over one day. I would have them do any stone work for me in the future.

― FAQ

## Dog owner questions

### Will the yard smell?

No, as long as it drains and gets rinsed now and then. Liquid goes straight through and the infill handles the ammonia.

### Will my dog dig it up?

It's very hard for them to start. There's no loose soil and we fasten the edges down hard. We haven't had a dog take up a lawn yet.

### What about urine burn spots?

There's nothing alive to burn. The spot your dog uses every day looks the same as the rest of the yard.

### Is the infill safe if she eats grass?

Yes. It's a natural mineral and the turf is lead-free. Dogs lose interest fast because there's nothing to taste. We'll leave you a sample.

### Does it get hot for paws in summer?

On a hot afternoon it's warmer than grass, like a deck is. Shade helps and a quick rinse cools it right down.

### What about spring cleanup?

Pick up what the snow was hiding, rinse it, brush it up. Or call us and we'll come do it for you.

## Bring the dog to the site visit.

Seriously. We would rather see how she uses the yard, where the traffic lines are and which corner she has claimed before we design anything. It changes where the turf stops and the hard surface starts.
